I’m Here – a robot love story – honours ABSOLUT’s history, while embarking on a new and innovative alliance with one of today’s most original filmmakers. The result is a film which combines Jonze’s unique style with the ABSOLUT vision of making ordinary life more interesting.

“It was a pretty incredible opportunity,” says Jonze. “They (ABSOLUT) didn’t give me any requirements to make a movie that had anything to do with vodka. They just wanted me to make something that was important to me, and let my imagination take me wherever I wanted. And it wasn’t like working with some huge corporation where I had to meet with committees of people. It was just a small group, and it seemed like creativity and making something that affected them emotionally was the only thing that really mattered to them. I got to make my first love story. It’s about the relationship between two robots living in Los Angeles”.

Banksy - The Movie

Notorious street artist Banksy, whose work has decorated his home town of Bristol and Israel’s West Bank barrier, has turned his hand to film-making. Exit Through The Gift Shop will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, his agent told the BBC. It will be the first time the elusive artist, who has never revealed his identity, has spoken on camera. Billed as “the world’s first street art disaster movie”, its inclusion in the festival has been shrouded in secrecy.

Sundance organisers are due to announce its inclusion at a press conference on Thursday.

Unexpected stunts

Exit Through The Gift Shop was left off the official programme, but speculation about the festival’s Spotlight Surprise turned to Banksy after four stencils, believed to be by the artist, appeared on walls in Park City, where the festival is held.

Banksy is known for teasing his audience, toying with authority, and continually pulling the wool over people’s eyes to stage unexpected stunts.

Last year, he installed 100 of his artworks in Bristol’s council-owned museum under the noses of top officials, and once smuggled a blow-up figure of a Guantanamo Bay detainee into Disneyland.

Exit Through The Gift Shop will have its world premiere at the festival on Sunday.

It is described as the story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on him.

Infamous artist

Banksy said: “It’s the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed”. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, and many of the world’s most infamous graffiti artists at work. But until the film is shown, it is not known whether Banksy’s identity will be revealed.

In the past, the artist has both mythologised and subverted his own image, so the film could raise as many questions as it answers.

John Cooper, director of the Sundance Festival, said the story was so bizarre that he questioned whether it could be real.

“Exit Through The Gift Shop is one of those films that comes along once in a great while, a warped hybrid of reality and self-induced fiction while at the same time a totally entertaining experience,” he added.

Exit Through The Gift Shop is due to open in UK cinemas on 5 March

I was watching the end of Pulp Fiction this morning, while having my brunch...and it's
My fav' movie all time for sure...
Even if i love Jonas Mekas, Chris Marker or Pavel Lounguine screens....Pulp Fiction is so great
After the movie, there were this shorts called "Fantaisie In Bubblewrap", i just tried to youtube it and its not on it...so sorry for not posting it. Control, a film by Anton Corbijn

Control is a biopic film about the late Ian Curtis (1956-1980), lead singer of the legendary post-punk rock band Joy Division. The screenplay is based on the book Touching From a Distance, by Curtis' wife, Deborah, who is also a co-producer of the film.

The film details the life of the troubled young musician, who forged a new kind of music out of the punk rock scene of 1970s Britain, and the band Joy Division, which he headed from 1977 to 1980. It also deals with his rocky marriage and extramarital affair, as well as his increasingly frequent seizures, which were thought to contribute to the circumstances that led to his suicide on the eve of Joy Division's first U.S. tour.

The title is a reference to one of Joy Division's more memorable songs, "She's Lost Control". The song title is believed to be a reference to an epileptic girl Curtis befriended while working at a rehabilitation center in Manchester. The girl died during a seizure and thus inspired the title.

The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, on 17 May 2007, where it was received well by the critics. Although shown outside the Palme d'Or competition, Control was the big winner of the Director's Fortnight winning the CICAE Art & Essai prize for best film, the "Regards Jeunes" Prize award for best first or second directed feature film and the Europa Cinemas Label prize for best European film in the sidebar.
