7- Fela Anikulapo Kuti # Roforofo Fight (Roforofo Fights LP, 1972)

How many artists in the music history can pretend to create a new style, a new kind of music?

How many artist fights all their life for their people, country and freedom?

Most of artists, started with revolution songs and after 2 or 3 albums, they just fall into corrupted world full of cocaine & money. Fela never did. As Bob Marley or other great music icons. If you have to remember one African musician, make sure it will be Fela Anikulapo Kuti. For the music he created: the Afro-Beat and for his political fights against corrupted African Leaders & white masters still controlling Africa from their countries...I can say that my country France is still stealing Africa. As Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, USA, Japan, China, Germany, Italy and much much more…Make sure Fela is still in your mind, cause they afraid about new ones…They killed them but they ,ever killed their ideas.

Fela Kuti Rest In Peace….and Dance !!!!

Roforofo Fight is about human intolerance towards each other. Issues that could be resolved amicably usually end up in fist-fights. Sometimes such fights end up bloody or muddy. Dramastising the scenario that ensues before a fight, particulary in a muddy place. Fela says it usually starts with words like: “You dey craze! No craze! Get away Who are you?”

These are two people who could quietly resolve their differences, screaming and yelling at each other. Unfortunately, for both of them, the area where the argument is taking place is full of mud. Within seconds, they draw the attention of a passer-bye, which then turns into a crowd. “If you dey among the crowd the two wey yap!...Tell am make him no fight oh!...” Meaning if you are in the crowd watching, please advice your friends not to fight if he is one of the two arguing. Because of humans egos, instead of heeding the advice, walk away quietly. Both will feel disrespect and shamed. To settle the score, the two of them chose physical combat in the mud – a muddy fight follows. At the end of the fight, on-lookers couldn’t differentiate the one from the other, both of them look like twins. They won’t get any sympathy from the people looking too…”You don tell am before make him no fight! Roforofo dey for there!...”

8 – El Michels Affair # C.R.E.A.M. (Fat Beats Records, 2009)

9 – El Michels Affair # Shimmy Shimmy Ya (Fat Beats Records, 2009)

New York-based vintage soul instrumental group, El Michels Affair are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated upcoming studio LP, Enter The 37th Chamber. The album, full of adaptations of classic Wu-Tang Clan songs, was released April 21st via Fat Beats Records.
At the core of a movement that includes Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, and The Budos Band, El Michels Affair are among the leaders of a retro-soul and funk movement causing a stir both in the streets and on the charts. Led by saxophonist/organist Leon Michels (who’s song with Menahan Street Band was lifted by Jay-Z for “Roc Boys),” and producer/engineer Jeff Silverman, El Michels Affair comprises a collection of other musicians from The Dap-Kings, the Budos Band, and Antibalas. Although sharing similarities with these groups, the El Michels’ sound is its own - versatile enough to span genres including soul, funk, hip-hop, and punk rock. Always hard at work in the studio, El Michels Affair looks forward to stepping back into the spotlight to display that versatility on their new album, Enter The 37th Chamber.
